180 - Palma Violets
Some within the Some Other Time circle argue that 180 by Palma Violets might just be the greatest debut album of all time. Regardless of how you feel about that assessment, there’s no denying that this record perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the era. Released in 2013, it brims with that garage band spirit, jangly guitars, jagged vocals, and an infectious camaraderie—despite any internal tensions within the band. The unpolished production only adds to its charm, channelling the same raw, frenetic energy as their live performances. As far as indie debuts go, this is one not to be missed.
